The Gray Fossil Site & Museum

The Gray Fossil Site & Museum is the only late Miocene and early Pliocene terrestrial fossil site in the Appalachian Mountain chain. This fossil deposit covers roughly 5 acres and is located about 100 feet beneath the land surface. At the Gray Fossil Site visitors can view several well preserved plant and animal remains that date back between 4 and 8 million years ago.
